NEET 2016 Counselling Schedule - The counselling schedule of NEET 2016 has been announced by MCC. The counselling is conducted in two rounds beginning from August 22. The counselling schedule of AIPMT/NEET 2016 is given below.

NEET 2016 counselling for 15% All India Quotas (AIQ): The counselling of NEET 2016 is conducted for allotment of 15% All India Quota MBBS and BDS seats in all government medical and dental colleges of India except institutions in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir. The allotment of MBBS and BDS seats to be done strictly on the basis of candidates’ rank and their preference for medical and dental colleges. The NEET 2016 counselling is conducted for approximately 3850 MBBS and BDS seats.

NEET 2016 Counselling for Participating States and Medical Colleges:Counselling of NEET 2016 participating states will be conducted either by State Medical Council or by medical college designated for this purpose. The counselling will be done allotment of 85% state quota MBBS and BDS seats available in respective states. CBSE will prepare state merit list of each of the participating states and forward it to the state medical council of respective states. The counselling will be done either online counselling or through personal appearance following the rules and reservation policies as applicable.

The examination authority will also prepare merit list of participating medical colleges of NEET and forwards it to concerned medical colleges for counselling process. Allotment of MBBS and BDS Seats in AFMC, Delhi University, BHU and Jamia Hamrad will be done by respective medical colleges as per the NEET 2016 merit list for praticipating medical colleges. 

Stepwise Procedure of NEET Counselling 2016: The counselling of NEET 2016 to be conducted in two rounds. To participate in NEET 2016 counselling candidates have to register themselves with their roll number and passowrd. The stepwise procedure of NEET 2016 counselling is given below. The procedure given below is based on information brochure released by the counselling authority MCC.

Ranks Range for NEET 2016 Counselling - The counselling is to be done only for those candidates who have allotted ranks under all India quota categories. CBSE has prepared the rank range of all candidates based on the marks obtained by them in the entrance exam. The rank of candidates who are eligible to participating in counselling has been declared along with the publication of NEET 2016 result on August 16. The rank list includes a range of scorers from the highest to lowest within a category. The table given below shows the rank range of candidates under different categories eligible to participate in NEET 2016 counselling.

NEET2016 counselling procedure - Round Wise
The counselling of NEET 2016 to be conducted in two rounds. The seats to be allotted as per their rank, choice, availability, reservation policy, etc. The round wise procedure of NEET 2016 counselling is mentioned below.

NEET 2016 counselling Round 1:

Step 1: NEET2016 Counselling Registration, Choice filling & Indicative Seat - Candidates have to first register themselves to participate in NEET 2016 counselling. The registration can be done by entering requisite information like name, date of birth, NEET 2016 roll number, application number, etc. in relevant fields. Candidates who are already registered can participate in counselling by entering their log in id and password.

Step 2:  NEET 2016 Counselling Exercising of Choices and Locking – The choice for medical and dental colleges can be selected and locked by candidates by clicking on save button. While exercising choices for colleges can interchange their opted choices number of times. But once the choice is locked and saved by candidates they cannot be either changed or unlocked. Once the choice is locked by candidates the list of selected medical and dental colleges will be appear on the screen.

What is NEET 2016 mock counselling / indicative seat allotment - During mock counselling, choices submitted by the candidates to be processed during the counselling period of round-1 and indicative seat to be displayed which are available at that point of time. This helps  candidates to refine the selection of choices in a more effective and efficient manner

Step 3: Process of Seat Allotment in NEET 2016 Counselling Round 1 – The seats to be allotted to candidates according to their rank and opted choice for medical and dental colleges

Step 4:  NEET 2016 counselling Round 1 Result Publish – The result NEET 2016 counselling round will be published on August 28. The result will have the detail of medical and dental colleges allotted  to candidates as per their choice and rank.

Step 5:  Reporting to Allotted Medical /Dental College against 1st Round – Candidates have to report to allotted medical colleges within the given dates to complete admission formalities.

NEET 2016 Counselling Round 2:
The second round of NEET 2016 counselling will be only an up-gradation of choice selected in round 1. In round 2 there will be no new registration and choice submission. Choices for medical and dental colleges opted at round 1 will be further processed for allotment of seats. The result of NEET 2016 counselling round 2 will be declared on September 12. 

The choices of candidates, who have submitted option for participating in the NEET 2016 counselling round 2 during the reporting period for the first round seat allotment, would be initialized (the choices remaining after allotment, submitted before round-1 will stand cancelled), and candidates are required to submit fresh choices online from September 9 to 10, 2016.

Candidates taking part in second round of online allotment will have to submit fresh choices during choice submission period and lock the choices during period of locking. There will be no indicative allotment in counselling round 2. Choices locked by the candidates would be processed and result will be published. 

Conversion of seats in NEET counselling 2016 round 3 will be based on following algorithm:

NEET 2016 Documents required at the time of admission:

Candidates without original certificates/documents shall not be allowed to take admission in allotted Medical/ Dental College. Candidates who have deposited their original documents with any other Institute/ College/University and come for admission with a certificate stating that their original certificates are deposited with the Institute /College / University will not be allowed to take admission in allotted Medical/Dental College.
Candidates have to bring following original documents (along with attested photocopies of documents) for admission to the allotted allotted Medical / Dental College
  • NEET 2016 Admit Cards 
  • NEET 2016 Result/ Rank letter 
  • Date of Birth Certificate (if Metric certificate does not bear the same)
  • Class 10th Certificate
  • Class 10+2 Certificate
  • Class 10+2 Marks Sheet
  • Eight (8) Passport size photograph same as affixed on the application form
  • Provisional allotment letter generated on-line
  • Proof of identity
  • The Candidate should also bring the following certificate, if applicable:
  • SC/ST Certificate issued by the competent authority in the standard format as specified in the prospectus/information bulletin (if applicable)
  • OBC certificate issued by the competent authority in the standard format as specified in the prospectus/information bulletin (if applicable)
  • Orthopedic Physical Disability Certificate issued from a duly constituted and authorized Medical Boards (if applicable)
