NEXT (National Exit Test)

A Four-in-One test termed as NEXT – ‘National Exit Test’ is going to be a reality in the year 2017. This national level test is meant for MBBS graduates (India), foreign medical graduates, postgraduate aspirants and Union Public Service Commission – CMS (Combined Medical Services) aspirants.

The year 2016 had been a momentous year in the field of medical education. Ushering in the reforms, Niti Ayog had tabled the National Medical Education Bill, 2016 in the month of August, 2016 proposing to introduce National Entry and Exit Exam towards regulation of medical education in the country. The Ministry of Health & Family Affairs, Govt. of India has given shape to the same by releasing the Draft Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Bill, 2016 in their website (www.mohfw.nic.in) for comments till 06.01.2017. Soon after, the changes will be introduced.

Only on clearing NEXT, the MBBS graduates (domestic & foreign) will be eligible for obtaining license to practice in India. Further, on the basis of the rank/score/grade obtained in NEXT, they will be eligible for PG seat or CMS. Please find the articles published in various newspapers providing more details. We at RUDRAM EDUCATION (www.rudrameducation.com) keep continuous update of the developments.
