In 2008, Trinity School of Medicine was accredited to offer the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree and welcomed its inaugural class.

Who should consider the Pre-Medical Program at Trinity School of Medicine?
The Pre-Medical program is specifically designed to provide students with the 90 credit hours of prerequisite curriculum required by Trinity School of Medicine's Doctor of Medicine Degree (MD) program. The Pre-Medical and Doctor of Medicine programs, when combined, form an all encompassing Medical Degree program for students from Europe, Asia and other parts of the globe where their six year medical programs traditionally begin directly after secondary school.

How long is the Pre-Medical Program?There are 90 credit hours required for matriculation into the Medical Doctor program. Because educational standards, courses of study, and instructional methods vary from nation to nation, each student seeking admission to the Pre-Medical program will apply with unique academic credentials. Students who have earned college level credit concurrently during the completion of secondary school or attained credits from undergraduate institutions are encouraged to apply to the Pre-Medical program as these credits will be considered in the admissions process. Most students entering Trinity School of Medicine's Pre-Medical program directly from secondary school will require a minimum of 5 years to attain their MD degree. Students will generally attend three consecutive terms per year. The year-round format reduces the length of time required compared to other programs. Students may choose to take a term off between the programs and again in preparation for the Step 1 board exam, with faculty approval.
Accreditation
Trinity School of Medicine was granted full accreditation by the National Accreditation Board (NAB) of the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines effective April 11, 2008.
Concurrently, the Government has granted to Trinity School of Medicine a charter with exclusive rights to The Milton Cato Memorial Hospital for its medical school and a preparatory program, and with the right to confer the degree of Doctor of Medicine after the successful completion of the prescribed accredited curriculum (10 terms) and to engage in all necessary and appropriate activities which are incidental to the operation of a medical college.
Trinity School of Medicine's accreditation is also approved by the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER) and lists Trinity in its International Medical Education Directory (IMED) effective September 19, 2008.
This listing in FAIMER/IMED and the assignment of a code provides the sanction for Trinity students to register for and take the USMLE Steps 1, Step 2 and Step 3 examinations. Students who successfully complete Step 1 and Step 2 (CK) and (CS), and otherwise meet the requirements for graduation from Trinity, are then authorized by the ECFMG to register for and participate in the National Residency Match Program (NRMP).

Security and maintenance personnel are on campus at all times to handle any need that might arise. Faculty and administration offices are only a few short steps from the residence halls and students are encouraged to drop in for discussions with faculty.
